M.I.A.D. Venado Tuerto 2006 International Exhibition of Digital Art Argentine
On the whole 765 artists took part in the event, 435 of whom were qualified by the admission jury due to the quality in their work of 52 countries. The jury I grant the following prizes and distinctions :
FIRST PRIZE Exclusive exhibit and travel ticket and stay - City Venado Tuerto, Argentina
Artist : Maristella Colombo - Italy
Maristella Colombo structures his work from the search for a balance between meaning-carriers and meaning. As for the former aspect, taking the photograph and digital resource as the means of expression, she shows a solid management of the means used, thus achieving a result which is an evidence of a refined esthetic criterion and high executive-technical level. Maristella Colombo 's work encourages different levels of analysis as an open work, with a multiplicity of contents and meanings, where stand out the dramas related to today's man: oppression, loneliness, individuality, progressive extinction of values; concepts which are difficult to convey with economy of elements; to these, she has efficiently added values always present in art: visual potential, beauty and poetic intention.
